Instagram Diversity Program for Authors of the Youth - KIDPRESSROOM

At Kidpressroom, we are committed to diversity and making the world a better place for youngsters. This is where the Instagram Diversity Program comes into place.

We are on a mission to spread the word about diverse books for the youth.

Are you an author of children, teens, and young adult material who writes about diversity and wants to showcase your work?

Tag us on a NON-PROMOTIONAL post about your diverse children’s book, and we will repost it. That’s it!

Frequent Asked Questions

What Do You Mean by a Promotional Post?

Promotional posts are the ones that include any mention about book sales, book promotions, or mention different brands. For instance, saying, “You can find the book on Amazon”, “The book is on sale for $0.99”, and etc, are some examples of promotional posts.

What Do You Consider ‘Diversity’?

Our definition of diversity involves a broad range of multi-cultural, ethnic, social, religious, and linguistic aspects. That said, diversity books by or featuring Hispanic/Latinx, African American/Black,  Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ, or a multifaceted range of customs and traditions (Easter, Diwali, Hanukkah/Chanukah, Kwanza, Chinese New Year, etc), and disabilities.

Can I Tag You in an Old Post?

No. Our goal with the Instagram Diversity Program is to spread the word about diverse books and the importance of diversity in children’s literature. As social media channels nowadays are always changing their algorithms, including Instagram, the probability of the network pushing engagement in an old post is very slim.

Who Can Participate in the Instagram Diversity Program for the Youth?

Any children, teens, and young adults’ author who writes about diversity or fits any of the categories described above.

Why Can’t I Mention or Tag Anyone Else on the Post?

Because this is not a promotional initiative (we are not a promotional website). As mentioned earlier, we want to spread the word about diversity and the love of books to youngsters. That said, when we share your book(s), you are still receiving a lot of exposure regardless.

Do You Feature Non-Diversity Posts for the Youth?

On occasion, we also feature non-diversity, but the post needs to follow the same structure laid out above (non-promotional).
